Building a playground for Peace

Community , Education , Health-related
This project is bringing a desolate community together with a goal in mind to uplift and revitalize the neighborhood with fun, healthy play activities, violence and abuse prevention initiatives for the entire family. Throughout the entire completion of the project, we plan to add and outdoor family venue and community garden. There's are mural and A Tree of Life Memorial Corner for victims of Gun Violence honoring young people who are victims of gun violence that have lost their lives.
Make A Difference
To date, we have been engaging families in the Englewood Community who sees the need for this project to be in their neighborhood. This particular playground will also be a deterrent for violence prevention. The community of Englewood is one of the highest gang areas with a large crime rate.
Our Inspiration Established in 1995, KKO helps to minimize VIOLENCE and ABUSE through Media, Community & Music outreach, championing Chicago’s at-risk youth while taking them from the corners to opportunities. This project became a huge opportunity for our young people to make a difference in the Community.
